Assisted Living
Assisted living seniors homes offer a balance of independent living together with health and recreational services, as well as other support services.

These assisted living support services typically include meals, personal care, housekeeping, and laundry. Assisted living is appropriate for those who are looking for help with their daily routines but do not need full time nursing care. Some of the common types of personal care services include bathing, dressing and monitoring of medications.

A senior who is choosing an assisted living environment should have the ability to communicate clearly and to make his or her own daily decisions.

Under British Columbia’s Community Care and Assisted Living Act, all assisted living residences must be registered with the Office of the Assisted Living Registrar and uphold health and safety standards which are contained in the regulations. For more information about the Office of the Assisted Living Registrar, please go to the Resources page of this website.
