Alzheimer’s Care
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive, degenerative brain disease which impairs the individual’s memory, thinking and behaviours.  Eventually, the individual becomes unable to care for themselves.  A residence which provides for Alzheimer’s care is one which has been designed specifically for these individuals in mind, which addresses the needs of the individuals as their condition changes.   These types of residences will have skilled caregivers or medical staff on site 24 hours each day. Some of the specific characteristics of a residence providing alzheimer’s care include special programs or therapeutic activities aimed at preserving and stimulating memory and resources and seminars focussed on caring for those with memory impairments.
